The Finger Lakes Wine Lab provides an array of analyses to monitor your winemaking processes from harvest to bottling. We strive to deliver timely analytical results for must and wine so our winemakers have the information they need to make decisions with confidence.
The Finger Lakes Wine Lab is an extremely valuable tool. We have been using their service since 2008. The accuracy and turn-around time are great, and they provide analysis that we simply do not have the capacity to do. A valuable asset all year long, but especially during the hectic harvest season.

Better Wine Production
… I’ve ALWAYS, for every ferment, added the legal limit of nutrient. Because of the information you’ve given us, I’ve added Fermaid K to 1 ferment, and NOTHING to all the others. It’s definitely a time and money saver, and very likely will produce better wine (excessive nutrients are reputed to produce some off flavors).

Money Saving
By testing the juice samples, I have confirmed what we have been told in the past by Thomas Henick Kling at Cornell. Using maximum levels of DAP is false and if there is the proper level of nitrogen in the juice already, more doesn’t need to be added. We are saving money by not needing as many nutrients.
